Manor Cottage is situated in Croyde Bay, North Devon. Croyde is on the Northern coastline of Devon and enjoys the luxury of warm waters which originate in the Caribbean and follow the Gulf Stream through the Atlantic ocean.

Due to the warm waters and clean beach, Croyde Bay has become one of the top venues in the UK for surfing and is well supported by surfing shops and schools. Croyde beach is amongst the top 5 in the country.

Croyde's famous thatched roofed cottages are surrounded by unspoilt countryside which meets the dramatic rocky coastline. The village is surrounded by a range of country walks to suit all ages across unspoilt National Trust land.

There are plenty of other activities available in the Croyde Bay area if you don't like surfing, such as horse riding, golf, off-road driving, quad biking, kiting and much more. For the kids, there are plenty of theme parks such as 'Once upon a time', 'Watermouth Castle' and 'the Big Sheep' to name but a few.

If you just wish to relax, you could take a stroll around Croyde's delightful craft and gift shops then refresh yourself at a cream tea shop or one of Croyde's many restaurants each with its unique character. Croyde village has a local shop for groceries but there is a regular bus service to nearby Braunton and Barnstaple if you need a town centre.

For evening entertainment, both Barnstaple and Illfracombe have night clubs, theatres and cinemas to offer, each within a 20 minute drive.

North Devon

If want to explore further afield, then North Devon has plenty to offer. To the north of Croyde is the Victorian holiday towns of Illfracombe, Woolacombe and Combe Martin. Follow the coast road and visit Lynton and Lynmouth, gateway to Exmoor National Park. Here you will see some of the most beautiful scenery in the country.

South of Croyde is the historic market town of Bideford and the stunning Clovelly village. North Devon is packed with beautiful villages and towns, natural beauty and attractions, too many to list on this site. A week is never enough in North Devon.


Directions

From the M5 motorway, take junction 27 at Tiverton and join the A361 (North Devon Link Road) until you reach Barnstaple. Continue through Barnstaple and along the A361 until Braunton, then turn left onto the B3231 signed for Georgeham and Croyde.

Once in Croyde, the road bears right over a small bridge. Take the next left down a lane signed as 'private lane'. You will see Manor Cottage on the right hand side.
